Welcome to another month of #TwitterTales or short story tales on twitter. These posts are every Thursday and Friday for the whole month.
Here is mine for July 2018:
Something blocked the sun. Legend expected to see a cloud or a plane, but something dark and big was there instead. An alert sounded on his cell along with everyone else's in the park.
Red Alert: Danger in the sky. Get inside.
Legend pressed the website included with the alert. He had heard of an Amber, Blue, and Silver Alerts but never Red. The link pulled up a video of the president.
“The answer wither or not we are alone in space has been answered." The president glanced at the papers in front of him. “We are attempting to make contact, but no one is answering. To protect yourself remain indoors. We don’t know if the aliens are hostile or not yet.”
A warning siren filled the air. People begin screaming and ran to their cars with their kids and pets, leaving things behind in the park.
“What do we do, man?” Bruce asked.
“I don’t know. Go home,” Legend answered. Nothing like this has ever happened in real life.
“You need to leave this area immediately. The government has issues a Red Alert and we are at Severe for a Terrorist Attack,” the officer on a horse said as they stopped to talk.
“Who’s after us?” Bruce asked scared.
“Aliens.”
Legend glanced at his friend, and they ran to his car.
“This can’t be happening, man,” Bruce said once inside.
“It is. I need to check on my mom,” Legend said.
“I can’t get service. My grams will be okay, right?”
“I’ll drop you off.”
“What if she’s not at home?”
“What if she is? I have to see my mom. She’ll be worried,” Legend said, sounding upset. He wanted to help his friend, but his mom came first. Traffic was bad. He couldn’t wait. “What do you want to do?”
“I’ll stay with you," Bruce said.
Legend raced home. He prayed for his mom to be there. She was watching TV. They hugged. Loud noises shook the house.
Legend ran up the stairs to the roof. Missiles headed toward the center of town.

Here is a sneak peek of next months:
Their boat shook again. “What’s with these quakes?” Simon asked. “This is the fourth this week.”
“Why are you asking me?” Rebel asked. She wiped the sweat off her brow. The shark was secure in their net. She tagged it and let it go.
